Bacon
Toronto
Instagram: vizsla_bacon

Canadian graffiti artist Bacon began painting in the 90’s as a teenager.  He is best  known for his colourful works lining the alleys and streets of Toronto.  Bacon describes the art form as being passed down from one generation to the next.  “The streets taught me to paint.”

His work has evolved to deconstructing traditional graffiti spray paint techniques to create an abstract graffiti style while maintaining letter form.  His use of a mature colour pallet and mixing of realism with the stylized graffiti fonts gives his work a unique look with smooth transitions and texture.

Most recently Bacon has been doing large scale murals while maintaining the disciplines of graffiti.  His work can be seen all over Toronto.

Artist Bio

Brad Biederman is a Canadian fine artist who emphasizes painting murals indoors and outdoors. His preferred medium is spray paint but he's equally comfortable with paint brushes and pencils.  His images are often plays on phrases or moments in history.  The esthetic of his work has roots in Graffiti and classical animation both which have been apart of his life for the past 30 years. Brad has a consistencey that can be seen throughout his work and be read from one artwork to another. Whether it be on canvas, indoor or outdoor walls, the viewer is able to piece together a narrative that is consistent and intriguing. Such themes as fantasy, historical fiction and pop culture are often referenced in this work. This accessibility tends to attract audiences from all walks of life. His readily apparent love of both paint as a medium and these themes are displayed in bright colors and movement in his images. The stories that he tells through his work are just as important to him as the physical connection he derives from the action of painting itself. As an artist who works on commission, he has a proven record of completing jobs on time and within budget.

Artist Statement

Large scale murals have been a passion of Brad's for many years.  Brad is not afraid to tackle big projects be it as a solo or team player. Often when called into a group project Brad is the one that can be looked to for direction and guidance. With years of experience, he is always available, easily approachable and willing to help out younger artists. Brad is a self starter when it comes to finding locations to create his art. Often targeting locations that have had a history of vandalism, the reaction he recieves most often to using murals as a defence is disbelief.  Luckily Brad has a healthy number of murals that have stood the test of time, being untouched by the local graffiti community through respect for his work. More often than not he will return to these locations and deliver something new and fresh simply because it is what he loves. Approaching projects with many concepts and designs, his goal is to help business owners create a connection to their community. The casual passer-by will often approach Brad and his work with curiosity. His ability to embrace this communal feeling is at the very heart of his artwork.

Astro
Montreal
Instagram:

Montreal is where Astro is born and raised. He started painting graffiti in the mid 90’s, and developed a highly distinctive style and a world of its own, filled with funky letters and weird creatures. His work in graffiti and street painting is not only recognized by the « kings » of graffiti, but also by the new generation and the general public thanks to his unique way of painting. Astro is one of the “lucky few” to be able to create art that will be appreciated from everyone : from kids to adults, from established graffiti artists to regular folks.

His inspirations vary from old school New-York graffiti, graphic design, to European and Japanese comics. Always searching for the perfect simple and bold outline for more visual impact, his productions must always be fresh and fun, with a vicious touch.

Astro is a master of character designing. Each character is simple, created back in the days for fast illegal graffiti, but when painted in great numbers they create strong and powerful compositions.

Besides painting for fun, Astro is often approached by various corporations for commercial collaborations. It could be for murals, publicity, fashion, illustration and more

Chris Seaton

Creative and artistic from a young age, Chris Seaton has turned his creative expressions in to art to be shared with everyone!
He studied Fine Art and Graphic Design at Fanshawe College in 2005, but is mainly self taught in his favourite medium to work with, aerosol spray paint.  Chris has participated in numerous mural projects throughout the years and enjoys spending time supporting the local art community of London Ontario, his hometown.  He also enjoys live painting, which allows people a first hand look into some of his talents.  Painting live at numerous festivals in London, as well as other cities across South Western Ontario, he demonstrates speed painting which he creates original art in 5 minutes or less depicting space or nature scenes.  Having the chance to demonstrate and connect with people first hand, has given Chris opportunities which lead him to teach graffiti workshops through the art museum in Woodstock, design custom murals for businesses, participate in graffiti jams including an invitation from House of Paint, Ottawa, and give back to his community by creating original pieces donated to the Ronald McDonald House of London to auction off.  Always excited to have the opportunity to share art and be part of the art community, especially when in his hometown!

Artist Profile Mr. Hydde

E-mail: mrhydde@mrhydde.com

Webpage: http://mrhydde.com
I am an artist living and working in the Toronto area. I show my work under the pseudonym Mr. Hydde. I completed my B.F.A at Queen's University in Kingston Ontario, and my M.F.A. degree at Concordia University in Montreal.  I lived in Tokyo Japan for 2 years, where I became familiar with Japanese printmaking techniques and started to become interested in Japanese Pop and Street Culture through my artistic contacts.
I took a long break from showing my work due to personal illness and the demands of a career in Elementary School teaching. I started making and showing my work again in 2013 and I have been vigorously pursuing and growing an art career for the last 5 years. I have been a strong presence in the Toronto Emerging Arts scene for the last few years. I have participated in many group shows and Pop-Up opportunities. I am reasonably well known and respected by other artists in the emerging arts community.
When I was contacted through Instagram by the owner of Coldstream Fine Arts my career changed. Working in partnership with an established gallery means that I am unable to participate in Pop-Up shows and open call shows at rival galleries. However, it does help establish the credibility of my work which has helped with sales and other career opportunities. My gallery has significantly extended my reach in the Toronto Arts community.
I was also contacted through Instagram last year by “The Bushwick Collective”, a famous New York street art collective with international connections and many prominent members (Nychos, Sipros, Chor Boogie, Buffmonster, Surge, Case Maclaim, ect.). I was invited to New York to participate as a mural painter in the Bushwick Collective Block Party, a prominent street art eventI am planning to paint in their Dec. event at the Miami Basel art event. I expect even more media coverage as Miami Basel is easily the largest art event in North America. I am a member in good standing with the Collective, with an automatic invitation to paint at any of their events.
Social media has facilitated many of my career successes and it is my primary source of sales of my work. I regularly create content and interact with my audience through various social platforms. My most prominent presence is in Instagram and Facebook.
